Harmony is an Upcoming Singer. She's 17 years old and is looking to break through in the music world. Her music is a little bit of everything from R&B/Hip-Hop/Pop & also a little Rock. She doesn't like to really categorize herself because any day her sound could change because she goes off of hows she's feeling at that particular moment or a beat she may hear that inspires her. Harmony also likes to rap. She doesnt really proclaim herself as a rapper because its something she does as a hobby but that is also something you find harmony doing as well.
Harmony goal is to just have a lot of Fan who love her for who she is and that respect real music. She wants to bring meaning back to music. She wants to just inspire her peers and set am excample that you can do anything you want to do and be your own trendsetter and that being a leader is COOL!

Jocelyn a.k.a Harmony was born November 27,1993. Jocelyn was born in Cooper Hospital in Camden,NJ where she was raised by her mother. Jocelyn has two brothers and is the only and youngest girl of the three.
Jocelyn attended Urban Promise Charter School for her elementary & junior high years and every last one of
those years she was on honer roll. So it looks like this lil star in the making has brains as well. When she was attending urban she critiqued her drawing abilities in art class, which was her favorite class when she was younger, after, her love for music class where she was in 3 school musical plays through out her
junior high years, that's when she found out that she loves being on stage. Being on stage made her feel like thats where she belong.
Jocelyn is a very shy girl so she never really spoke about her love for music or even how it made her feel she always kept it to herself. Jocelyn comes from a very talented family, almost about everyone in her family sings or rap or just have some type of musical ability. For instance, her brother
Sultan sings, her other brother Shikeem has his own entertainment business called "Shi Entertainment" & her
cousin Mia raps. Her mother is a christian woman so she was brought up in church, listening to alot of gospel music. Even at home her mother blast the wonderful tunes of yalonda adams, kirk franklin, & CeCe winans; even
some oldies like mighty clouds of joy, and the canton spirituals ect. When listening to the music her mother
blasts she always wanted to jump up and sing and dance but was really shy so she just set back and enjoyed
the music & listen to her mother sing.
Around the age of 9 years old, is when Jocelyn was introduced to R&B. In the year of 2003, when the
'03 BET AWARDS permiered was when Jocelyn seen Beyonce perform and was amazed by her high energy, and energetic
dance moves, bright lights, and creative performance, and her iconic voice, most of all she seen that she was
having alot of fun while entertaining the crowd and having the crowd go wild. By watching Beyonce' inspired Jocelyn
to come out of her shell and present herself to the world. But, she didnt show anyone her talents yet, between
the ages of 9 & 12 Jocelyn would lock herself in her room and practice singing, learning how to hit different notes
and preject, Very smart for a little girl. But Jocelyn is a perfectionous, she knew she wanted to have her voice together a little before she presented herself to anybody, even her mother havent heard her sing during that time. While in her room she'd pop in a Beyonce DVD and just listen to how she sang, & every little technique she did to hit her notes. Also she would sing while dancing and moving to excercise her voice so she would still sound good while dancing. So as you can see Beyonce is Jocelyn's biggest influence and inspiration.
Within that same time Jocelyn also started to write her own music. Her first song was called "Get loose, Get Crunk",
it was pretty good for a little girl but it wasnt quite there yet. So she kept writing and practicing and wrote
more songs like "Twisted", and "Cupid", just to name a few. But then she took a little time off from writing and
just stuck to singing covers of different songs.
In 2008-09, Jocelyn started High School at CCTS. She then decided, in this new chapter of her life to show
more of herself and break out of her shell. So she joined the Basketball team, (which her numder is #25, jus saying lol),
and her schools performing arts program. Freshmen year, was the year that Jocelyn sang in front of her first audience
at her school talent show,She was so nervous but she did it anyway. She sang "Cater 2 U" by Destinys Child with her
friends Crissy and Aarie. Jocelyn was told that she sucked on that performance but she didnt let that stop her. She turned
all of that negativity into a positve. Then her sophmore year, at the next talent show she sang "And I" by
Ciara with
her Best Friend Aarie, and also sang "Ave Maria" by Beyonce' with her other best friend Rosita and got a standing
ovation. Junior year, she performed "Angel of Mine" with her friend Teyonna and had the crowd clapping
and singing along too. So eventually the crowd came around, "Never take what anyone say to you to the heart.
Use it to your advantage". But, Around this time during her sophmore & junior year was when she started to rap.
She has watched her cousin Mia rap for years and decided to give it a try and found that she loved rapping as
much as singing and was pretty good at it, so she decided to add it to her list of talents.
Around this same time Jocelyn decided to broaden her audience and go worldwide by making a Youtube
page and post videos of her singing and rapping. Also she has posted her original material and has gotten alot
of good feedback on it. Then, she transfered over to Facebook, the one place everyone be at and created a Fan
page and in just 2 months, Jocelyn has gotten 1,000+ fans and growing. This is where Jocelyn singing name came about
, it was given to her by a fan on facebook and thought it was a pretty cool name to have because it described her in just one word. Want to know how? Heres how: Definition of Harmony: The combination of simultaneously sounded
