Haryl Dabney Jr, a young Public Relations Manager,born November 23,1987 in Youngstown, Oh and is currently living in Albany,Ga. He was raised in a single parent home with his mother (Carlette Moore) and old brother (Darius Moore), so two things he learned more than others from his mother was how to be hard working and have integrity, he stated “things weren't just given to us, we had to earn them”. His grandparents (Ted and Katie Fagan) are who truly gave him his first skill and that was for having a Green Thumb, he stated “we worked in their yard to earn movie and skating ring money, now that’s manual labor”. After years of gardening another church member Doris Stevenson, which he also calls his other grandmother hired him to do organic gardening and other yard work. Haryl attended Family Worship Center for 18 yrs, he sung in the choir and played the Alto Sax at different events, he now attends Berachah Fellowship.

Haryl attended Westover Comprehensive High School from 02-04, where he played football, was in the band, and TSA, FCCLA, FBLA, and Skills VICA USA. Rumor was that he developed his own school newspaper called “The Informer”. His path changed along the way in 2004 when he was charged with Rape and Kidnapping of a fellow classmate. He then attended Albany Technical College where he earned his G.E.D. Once obtained, he took classes in Information Technology at Albany Technical College. He was also selected for the 2013-2014 Leadership Albany Ga Class.

Mr. Albany Advocate (which is his Facebook name) currently wears a lot of hats in the community and is grateful for the opportunity. He currently serves on the DoCo Library Board, YMCA 21st CLCC Board, Ambassador for the Chamber of Commerce, Youth Advocate Leadership Trainee with Children’s Defense Fund, Emerge Albany Co-Chair, Albany,Ga CrimeStoppers, The Kattalistt Group Board of Directors, Citizens Transportation Committee, Habitat for Humanity, a mentor and tutor for Albany Boys Club, and a host of other things. He stated, “My goal is to simply start rebuilding the community that I love so dear”. In 2005, while volunteering for Habitat for Humanity he was struck in the eye by a nail. After several surgeries years ago, he is somewhat visually impaired but that did not stop him. In 2008 another life obstacle hit him, when he was charge with Conspiracy to Commit Aggravated Assault and Gang Participation. He was then banned from the City of Albany, Ga for 2 years.

He currently works for L2Networks a telecommunications company, as Public Relations Manager. He does all these things because “success or failure is my determination” he stated. The people who he is grateful for in his accomplishments range so far, but wanted to acknowledge all of his family and supporters, “I pray my daughter (Aubrie Dabney) will be afforded the same great opportunities and blessings that Albany has afforded me”. One word to describe this motivated, enthusiastic, young professional Albany Advocate is Optimistic, he states "Most people look at a gray sky and say where is the sun, I look at a gray sky and say why is the sun playing behind the clouds!”
