Spætt Film AS was a Norwegian film production company established in 2006 by Magnus Skatvold.[1].
When the company was founded, the name was Spætt Media and was a sole proprietorship, but in 2012 a joint stock company with the same name was started.[2][3] At that time Henrik Flatås and Håvard Wettland Gossé became owners of the company. In 2014, the company changed its name to Spætt Film.
Due to the Corona pandemic and the financial consequences that followed, the company struggled financially. In August 2023, the company was declared bankrupt.[4] At the time the company was called Film og sånn AS. Later, Henrik Flatås, Isak Jensen Weie and Aleksander Fremstad Askim started a new joint stock company called Spætt AS, which continues to produce commercials.[5]
Productions[edit]
Originally, the company produced commercials for Norwegian customers, and was specialized in digital cinema advertising. From 2012, a new department for short films and documentaries was created. The first short film the company produced was The Fall[6], directed by Andreas Thaulow, which premiered in 2014. The same year, the company launched the film Foul, directed by Rune Denstad Langlo. It was nominated for the [[Amanda prize for best short film.[7] The company's first documentary film was The Psychonaut[8]from 2015, Directed by Jon Vatne. After these projects, the company produced a long series of documentaries, short films and commercials for a Norwegian and international audience.[9] In 2023, the company premiered their first feature film, Norwegian Dream. It was the opening film at the Kosmorama International Film Festival[10], and was nominated for three Amanda awards.[11]
