Peer Review

[edit]

Hey Hayleyreneely,

Here's the peer review for your wiki page, hope it helps . .

Clarity, easy to understand

  • Good clarity, well written; a little to scientific I think, but sort of hard to deviate from since a lot of the genetic jargon is needed to explain what is happening. Maybe there are some words you could replace if possible, but if not, It’s still well written and properly organized

What other information would you like to know? What questions do you still have about the topic?

  • For the recombination technology, how is the new protein expressed by the cell? Is the gene made and then integrated into the host DNA, or is a plasmid used and then transinfected into the cell? What are some examples of partial gene fusions? In the Chimeric protein drugs where the human domains were introduced to the antibodies, what are these new antibodies used for? What type of illnesses?

Are there any terms that need definition, more information, or can be linked to other wiki pages.

  • Tandem duplication, retrotransposition and multimeric chimeric proteins

Is all the information relevant, not excessive, need to be on this page.  Too much repeated from other pages?

  • Nothing is repeated and all information is relevant to your topic.

Recommendations for speaking in a scientific tone; scientifically accurate, but not too technical.

  • If feel like it’s a bit too scientific, I myself got confused on some of the words that were presented (specifically the ones I said to define). I feel like it’s kind of hard to deviate from though because a lot of these scientific words are necessary to explain the genetics behind making the fusion peptide.

How can images be improved, or what images would help clarify the page

  • A very useful image I think could show what happens to the genes during the formation of a fusion peptide; the rearrangement of the genes.

Grammar

  • Not a lot of grammar issues. Some here and there like missing the word “the” (fixed some of them) but besides that, good. (Just check again to make sure nothing is wrong)
