The power factor article was added to because what was once a topic for electrical engineers has now become an issue for everyone with the advent of CFL and electronic power supplies. Although the existing power factor article was great for engineers it didn't do much for most individuals. My additions are an attempt to address this. If you have comments and ideas on how to improve on this, please let me know.

I have deleted two paragraphs where there was mention of the Transverter. It was there as an example of active power factor compensation.
