Hip Hop is a major Key
[edit]FINAL REFLECTIONS ON WIKIEDU: AFPRL290.26
I learned in the Hip-Hop course a different approach to doing work, one that takes the pressure off perfection and alleviates it. The deliberate practice takes the allusion off of the idea of natural talent and places the talent to repetition and practice. Also the idea to read articles or anything with the mind set that it may have an agenda or bias and to understand these biases and agendas. I enjoyed the Foucault remix because it made me realize what hip hop meant to certain people and what there idea of hip hop was. The use of Wikipedia was also new to me, because Wikipedia has been stigmatized in the college world as being unreliable and it being fabricated but that is actually not true. Articles on Wikipedia without sources are unreliable but they also don't last on the page because just like any institution there are people preventing others from writing opinions and not facts. I enjoyed the class and our discussions but the only thing I wished we did more was discuss the music more and talk about contemporary hip hop as well. I learned a lot about the history of hip hop which I always thought was linear but we never really discussed contemporary music or hip hop culture which connects more to the students who live in a popularized hip hop world.
