Basharabdulah- Bashar Abdulah 1(september 17 1961- )Mosul2 - Iraq, a Naji Nauman Prize- winning Iraqi poet, novelist and translator. One of modernist Arab literary pioneer elites since the mid 1980s. His common Book along with co-writer, critic Saad Mahmood, entitled 'Alqabul Jumjuma' " Nick Names of the Same Skull" in two parts 1993 and 1995 respectively - published by Iraqi Nineveh Union of Writers- has been one of the most influential factors in spreading out new conceptions of both modern literary writing and reading techniques not only as received from the West by translation, but by embodying their own notions gotten out of studying the whole literary scene made by the the 1980s generation of writers who were writing in the frontal lines during the Iraq- Iran War ( 1980-1988), and then within the 1st Gulf War in 1991. In 'Alqabul Jumjuma' Bashar Abdulah and his collegue critic Saad Mahmood started their real literary revolution by launching their own unique LITERARY DOCUMENT entitled Watheqatul- Qusasa- publshed first in Al-Hadbaa Newspaper in July 13 1993- in which they called for using the term QUSASA [scrap of paper as symbole of their neglected generation for the modern literary text written in Iraq instead of Prose Poem or any other term not born within the nessecities of the Iraqi literary climate, the which provoked the backward traditional base of mendicity writers and resulted in many fierce attacks ended in the outburst of new trends of writing in Nineveh, leaving the traditional writers sitting around waiting for things to be changed for their interest, but in vain. Soon after that they produced another DOCUMENT " WATHEQATUL-MAQSUSA" to be the last poisonous glass before the Anti- Qusas and Maqsusa to toss it up. In 2008, Bashar Abdulah got published his first arabic translation 3of the chinese most important philosophical book "Book of Changes" or ICHING4 , by Dar Fadaat Publishing House, Amman Jordan. A year before, i.e, in 2007, he got his Poetic Novel Man Yaskubil Hawaa Fi Ri'atil Qamar5- "Who Dares Pour Fresh Air in The Moon Lung"- This book is the first to fix the term Poetic Novel 6on its front cover defying the the traditional backward concepts which regard the literary genres as closed list. In 2003, he got his English translation of the Iraqi writer Fatih Abdulsalam's novel entitled When the Whales' Back Blazes, published by HatsOff Books in Tucson, USA. In 1986 he got his English translation of the Iraqi writer Fatih Abdulsalam's collection of short stories entitled " Sheikh Newton & His Cousins" published by Namrood House in Nineveh, Iraq. During the years 2003- 2006, he worked as Director of both offices of Azzaman International Newspaper7 , and Alsharqiya Satellite TV8 in Nineveh- Iraq.Hhammer (talk) 20:39, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
