Helena Fuentes is a student at College of DuPage. Along with being a full-time student, she also works part-time at a fabric & crafts store[1]. At a towering height of 4'11", she is a first-generation daughter from a Filipino mother and a Mexican father. Helena embraces her multicultural background and enjoys learning about others as well. Outside of school and work, Helena can be found volunteering at various places, one being a domestic shelter. An aspiration of hers is to become a social worker for victims of domestic violence. To help others discover the value they have, give them a voice, and guide them with achieving the prosperous lives they deserve are just a few components of why her heart is so heavily invested in human services.

"The only time we should be looking down on someone is when we are bending down to help them up."

A notable symbol of the Mexican holiday, "Día de Los Muertos", La Calavera Catrina symbolizes the Mexican victory of taking fear out of death. She is also a reminder of how regardless of social status, death is the great equalizer.
