Electrostatic Oiler

Electrostatic oiler (ESO) is designed to apply a uniform coating of electrically resistive fluid, such as oil to a steel or aluminum strip, for the purpose of corrosion resistance or drawing lubrication. The Electrostatic Oiler is used to apply a precise and uniform coating onto the top, bottom, or both sides of a moving horizontal steel strip by electrostatic force.

Previous existing methods are ineffective and cause oil handling headaches. Mechanical methods of oil deposition such as rolling, dripping, pumping, blade wiping which are not able to coating in accurate way and the coating event will be influenced by strip shape.

Since 1956, American company ,TRION[1],firtly used electrostatic force technology to coat the oil on the surface of the sheet. With the developement of electrostatic oiler,The American peabody[2] was builted their first electrostatic oiler in 1976. later germany DUMA and Chinese TRIOAINC[3] had developped their own electrostatic oiler in different way.

How it works

The system design utilizes only electrostatic forces to propel the coating to the strip. Different atomizer technolgy will be used in the system.such as blade atomizer or nozzles atomizer. The electrostatic charge is applied at the edge of the blade/electrodes causing the fluid to break up into small streams. The fluid cannot absorb the electrostatic charge and immediately begins to break up and atomize into small particles.

The droplets will be atomized by nozzles or be charged since like charges repel and unlike charges attract, the droplets form a uniformly dispersed mist of coating (through repulsion), which is uniformly drawn to the potential difference of the grounded strip (through attraction).

The electrostatic oiler is a complex machines with mechanical and electrical components. the main constituted by base unit, oil tank, control panel and main control cabinet.

·Oil tank

Oil tank is the reserve the coating material and supply the coating material throught the connecting pipe. The tank is equipped with sight glass level indication. Float switches signaling empty, low, full and overflow will provide a signal for the transfer pump when required

·Main control cabinet

Siemens S7300 PLC, servo motor controls, main circuit breaker and branch circuit breakers.

·Control panel

All operator controls are mounted in the face of the operator control panel.

Model definition

Electrostatic oiler will be named by running direction of strip always. when the strip run horizontally throught the electrostatic oiler, we always called this model "Horizontal Electrostatic Oiler (HESO)", Another model is called "Vertical Electrostatic Oiler(VESO)".

Applications

Electrostatic oiler is suitable for applications of traditional oils as well as DOS based coatings. Lubricants, vapor phasecorrosion inhibitors, more uniformly applied to meet demanding customer specifications. Recommand applications just as like blank tinplate, food aluminum and DOS/DOS-A base coat ing applications.
