Hubert Blues Lawhorn is an American blues musician and songwriter. He was born in Charleston, West Virginia. Lawhorn has appeared as an accompanist, producer and writer. His work on recordings with blues artists over the past three decades includes; Louisiana bluesman, Willie Houston & The Blues Prowlers. He is also credited with the narration of the 2006 blues documentary film, Junk, Blues and Collard Greens released through Lonesome Lizard Production. He began his career as a guitar player in the upper-Midwest Chicago area. Lawhorn is most widely recognized as a blues bass guitarist. He continues to be in high demand for his authentic delta blues sound.

[edit] Biography Lawhorn acquired an interest in music as a young boy living in Elkhart, Indiana and became skilled enough at playing the guitar to perform several times on local television WSJV-TV's "Good Morning Michiana" show at the age of 14, in 1970.
Lawhorn would hone is skills as an entertainer performing at parties, street dances, fashion shows, even local political rallies. He also performed at nightclubs, bars and music venues in the Chicago-Michiana area.
It was at this time that he began sitting in with fellow musicians Fred Koeppel, Randy Kilburn, and Dan Singleton, which lead to Lawhorn’s interest in blues music. From the late 1960s until 1980, Lawhorn worked the live music circuit in and around the Chicago and Michiana area.
Lawhorn now lives in Denver, Colorado where he formed and co-stared in The JD Kelly Revue during the late 1990's and was the founding member of Louisiana bluesman, Willie Houston & The Blues Prowlers show. Lawhorn tours and continues to work the blues music circuit and is thought of as a solid veteran of the blues music industry
