Ribat al−Zamani[1]

Ribat al−Zamani was a hospital erected for pilgrims in Jerusalem.

Location

Ribat al−Zamani is located just south−west of Cotton Merchant's Gate, on the north side of Zuqaq Bab al-Mathara,[2] vis a vis Al-'Uthmaniyya.[3] Above the ground floor, part of it expands above the Cotton Merchant's Market.

An inscription text says:

In the name of God the Merciful, the Compassionate. This blessed place was erected by the servant needful of God Almighty, the Khwaja Shams al-DIn Muhammad b. al- Zamin, the servitor of the Noble Shrine of the Prophet (upon its inmate be the best of blessings and greetings), in the year eight hundred and eighty-one. May God bless our Lord Muhammad and his family.[2][5]
