Azriel Bibliowicz is a writer, sociologist and founder of the master's program in literary writing at the National University of Colombia. From 1983 to the present he has been linked to the National University of Colombia where he was a professor of sociology, film and television, and literature. He is currently a writer of essays and novels. In several of the latter he refers to the arrival and coexistence of the Jewish people in Colombia.
Bibliography
[edit]Born in Bogotá in 1949. He studied sociology at the National University of Colombia and completed a degree in sociology in 1973. He continued graduate studies at Cornell University, USA, where he obtained a Ph.D. in sociology and communications in 1979. He pursued further studies in literature in the department of Romance languages at the same university.
He has been a professor of sociology, cine film, television and literature at Colombian universities such as University of los Andes, Pontifical Xaverian University, Universidad of Valle and Externado University of Colombia.
He was a columnist in the editorial pages of the newspaper El Espectador, where he was awarded the Simón Bolívar National Journalism Prize[1] in 1981.
From 1983 to 2013 he was linked to the National University of Colombia as a professor of sociology, cine film and television, literature and creative writing. He was founder of the School of Film and Television of the Faculty of Arts of the National University, as associate professor. He was the manager and director of the Master's Degree in Creative Writing at the Faculty of Arts of the National University, which was inaugurated in the first semester of 2007. In 2004, the Universidad Nacional de Colombia awarded him the Medal of Academic Merit.
He has been jury of awards such as the Journalists Circle of Bogota in 1987[2], Simon Bolivar National Television Contest in 1988[3], National Children's Short Story Award Colcultura in 1992, University Short Story Externado University of Colombia 1993, National Short Story Contest of the District Institute of Culture and Tourism of Bogota 2000.
