David Tanui is a United Nations [1] security officer in New York, United States. He is a Kenyan national who previously served as Group Commander in the elite Recce Company (GSU) of the Kenya National Police Service [2], and Grade One Supervisor at Chebitet estate, Finlays Co. Ltd [3] in Kericho. He was educated at Kapsabet Boys High school, Nandi County [4]. David Tanui obtained a Bachelor of Education degree (Hons) from Moi University [5], Eldoret in 2000. He Completed MBA course at Kenyatta University [6], Nairobi in 2007. David Tanui pursued further studies in the United States of America where he earned a Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) in Civil Security-Management, Policy and Leadership from New Jersey City University [7] (2020), and a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Security Management from City University of New York [8] (2016). David Tanui joined United Nations Department of Safety and Security [9], New York Headquarters in November 2008 after a competitive global recruitment process that drew candidates from 78 member states of the United Nations.

Politics

David Tanui ran for the seat of Nandi County senator in the 2013 United Republican Party primaries [10]. He came second in the nominations, and decided to shelf his political quest in order to support Stephen Sang as the URP candidate. David Tanui is a founding member of the ruling Jubilee Party, and a former private advisor of the Jubilee government.
