SoccerAid Wikipedia 2021 is a fan-made association football event which is invented by a Wikipedia user named Iggy the Swan. As in real football matches, the length consists of 90 minutes with penalties if the score ends level. The event is presented by Iggy the Swan and commentry comes from Jonathan Pearce. The Wikipedia users involved are either changing pages on my watchlist regularly or are involved in discussions with me recently.

Participants[edit]

To participate in SoccerAid Wikipedia 2021, the Wikipedia users must contribute to the best they can and have at least 1000 edits plus 365 days of editing under their contributions on Wikipedia. For example, Iggy the Swan has made around 28,700 edits within almost 1460 days since joining so that user qualifies to participate. Celebrities and association football legends must come from their country of birth to play for their teams.

Teams[edit]

The teams are as follows, based on what information is there on the Wikipedian's user pages but there is some guesswork for some of you, as well based on normal page editing. To qualify for England: their user page lists a place from there, their supporting team is from England or appears to be on the WikiProject England list of participants To qualify for the Rest of the World: they don't come from England, team of support is not an English team, rarely edit association football articles or are part of another country's WikiProject force. Having another nationality may also qualify.
