Ararat — hydrocarbonate, calcium-sodium high in minerals natural sparkling water with mineralization 2400–2800 mg / l, produced by Ararat Group company in the Republic of Armenia.

Production[edit]

A 600ml bottle of ARARAT

Production is located in the city of Artashat, Ararat Region, Republic of Armenia.

Mine characteristics[edit]

Well B2 №11, Borot-Aghbyur gorge

Carbonic-dioxide water Wells В2 №11, №12, №19 of Vedi, Ararat region are located in the Borot-Aghbyur gorge of the Urts mountain range on the territory of the Khosrov reserve at an altitude of 1500 meters (4921,26 feet) above sea level. The depth of the wells is 130–151 meters (426–492 feet)[1][2].

Geographical coordinates:

• 39°56.26,6” north latitude
• 44°44’33,4” east longitude

The Ararat synclinorium is an artesian basin whose main water complex is the upper cretaceous carbonate layer. The mountain rock layer formations that cover carbonate-volcanic formations of the upper cretaceous, eocene porphyrites, and oligocene-miocenes, compared to the upper cretaceous aquifer complex, act as relative water resistance, which contributes to high pressure of artesian basin under the upper cretaceous layer.

The geological structure of the site includes the oldest paleozoic formations (Dionysian and carbonic) which forms the Urts mountain range.

All the outlets of mineral springs are conditioned by a large ruptures of formations and secondary emissions. Thus, the mineral waters of the region are formed in the Dionysian limestone ("primary mine") and under the sub-travertine cover ("secondary mine"), which have a large distribution area in almost the entire valley of the region due to the mineral springs ("primary stratification").

Based on the received hydro-geological, geothermal, hydrochemical research data about mineral water mine, it was possible to confirm the following: the mineral waters of Ararat are classified as pressurized carbonic waters, which are formed at considerable depths in the zone of development of young (quarterly) volcanic activity. That is why the water from the wells is pumped through the basaltic andesite, undergoing natural purification, is distinguished by its high microbiological purity[3].

Properties[edit]

Ararat natural mineral water belongs to the group of hydrocarbonate waters obtained from natural sources.
