Hello world.

My name is İlkim. Let me first introduce myself:

I was born in Istanbul, Turkey. My biological native language is Turkish.

My family emigrated to Germany, I grew up in Munich. My factual native language came to be German.

I worked in a multilanguage printery for 14 years. Then I started working as a freelance translator and interpreter for German, Turkish, and English, while doing voluntary work, including some for refugees.

In the past years I have been learning Hindi and Urdu, which gave me a whole new angle for looking at languages, and the world in general.

I have been using Wikipedia quite a lot, so now I decided that whenever I come across an opportunity to improve on the content, I'll grab that opportunity and make my own edits.
