Article Evaluation

On "List of Interest phenomenons" it talks in depth about all the different internet trends that have become big. I do think it is missing a lot of trends such as the "do you know the way" meme which is relatively new and booming. I do not blame the page though because there are so many huge internet trends that it is almost impossible to keep up with all of them.

Hi, my name is Ziyi Yuan. I come from China. I am the first-year student. My major is Foreign Language&Communication Media. I like fashion design, watching movies and traveling. I am happy to be your classmate.

Thank you.

My potential topics to add onto in wikipedia are Article Marketing on the Article marketing page and Twisted Fate a video game character from the League of Legends franchise on the League of Legends page. I would plan to add a section in Article Marketing about how lower quality news sources often use Article Marketing like TMZ or Worldstarhiphop for example to gain viewer attention. I would also want to try and add how these articles mainly pop up on snapchats discover section where the media sources pay money to snapchat to put their content so they can attract large groups of viewers. For my other suggestion, Twisted Fate from League of Legends, I would like to talk add a section about how he was one of the first characters in the game. This would allow viewers to see what a character from the video game looks like and give them a concrete example. I would also add a section that goes more in depth about how characters in the game work and how each character has a q,w,e,r ability. I would show Twisted Fate's abilities and explain what they do. This would be a great model for people reading the page to have an example of what a character looks and does within the game.

League of Legends - I would like to add a subsection about characters inside the game. Since their is 140 characters or as they are called "champions" in the game, I would choose to focus in on one to use as a model. This would allow viewers to see how a champion functions inside the game and what abilities and characteristics they posses. Going in depth I would analyze the different abilities each character comes with which are the q,w,e,r abilities which correspond to the keyboard keys. The r key is often your ultimate ability which is the characters most powerful move. The character I would like to use would be Twisted Fate the Card Master, one of the first champions within the game. He is considered a mage chapter who often are played in an magic damage burst manor. They often try to deal a large amount of damage and try to kill their enemies in one shot using all their abilities to maximize their damage output. The con to this is once using all their abilities to try and kill someone they often have to wait for their cool downs before they can fight again. Twisted Fate was released 2009-02-21.

Article marketing - As of now this is my planned page I'm going to add onto. This is a type of advertisement that companies make to catch large amount of attentions and views. This type of marketing is one of the best a business can do as it is so easy and the opportunity cost is so high. I would like to add a section on apps. This is because this is commonly done on apps and it is not covered on the page. We can see that on Facebook their is tons of articles that are just click bait and have ridiculous headlines with little or no truth or credibility behind the claims. A lot of articles now do not even posses much content inside the actual articles, once they got you to click on their article thats all they need. Snapchat also has a lot of junk on the discover section where companies like daily mail only produce junk about the Kardashians or other irrelevant news that is just meant to grab your attention. According to the Wall Street journal Facebook is making it harder for companies to use their platform for free advertisement. https://www.wsj.com/articles/marketers-say-facebooks-news-feed-update-will-be-nail-in-the-coffin-for-organic-posts-1515785725 This article shows how they are increasing their prices and forcing free article evaluations to be stopped. Forbes tells us how effective advertising online can be "In a study produced by Milton Brown, data found that mobile purchase intent increased by two times when a company shows an ad on Snapchat, and 92% of campaigns have seen a positive sales after advertising on the channel." https://www.forbes.com/sites/gabrielshaoolian/2017/03/08/is-snapchat-marketing-the-right-social-media-platform-for-your-brand/#37491f2d1168.

I also might want to add a section on click bait inside of article marketing. Article marketing has slowly shifted from actual articles which well written with solid content to try and attract readers and give attentions to companies to clickbait articles to grab attention. Click bait is common and is all over apps and the internet these days. The content inside click bait articles is junk and the titles are just to grab the viewers attention. Article marketing has mostly shifted from great content to hollow junk. This article on google scholar talks about how to recognize clickbait which is misleading and false news. https://dl.acm.org/citation.cfm?id=2823467 This next article talks about the origins of clickbait and the reasons for it. https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Celia_Ramos/publication/311930296_Click_Bait_You_Won't_Believe_What_Happens_Next/links/586a97f508ae6eb871ba6d17/Click-Bait-You-Wont-Believe-What-Happens-Next.pdf

Evolution

[edit]

Article Marketing has changed as different sources of media have been created. Article marketing originally used to be when writers would produce large amounts of weak articles and submit them to article directories. [1] Article directory websites would have a large variety of content on them allowing anyone to post to then hopefully get views from people reading the articles.[1] Article marketing has now evolved from poorly written articles to business's, to magazine writers and bloggers professionally writing articles tailored to small audiences to gain boost views to their website.[1] Gaining more attention is important for many reasons, to refer to the significance of Article Marketing to find out why.

This is a good start, but try to get to the point earlier - e.g. Article marketing has changed as companies have moved from targeting article directories (such as?) to micro-targeting small audiences (using what?). I'm not sure the last sentence adds much. Erickaakcire (talk) 16:16, 6 March 2018 (UTC)

Significance

It is now common for articles to get picked up by search engines which also allows for additional attention.[2] Article marketing is also very easy to do on your own which is key for small or personal business getting started.[2] Websites now have articles telling easy steps on how to write your own marketing article to gain views from the public.[2] Gaining views and more attention to a websites is important because it allows for more revenue and creates more importance for a website. As of March 2017 the internet has over 3.74 billion users.[6] This large market of possible customers makes article marketing a critical point of interest. All of these factors allow article marketing to be such a highly effective way to market and advertise to the public.

[4] App advertising is a very effective form of advertising, Milton Brown performed a study that people were twice as likely to purchase on their mobile phone when they see a Snapchat advertisement.[7] They also found that 92% of campaigns saw clear results after advertising on Snapchat. [7] Apps and websites are also having a backlash on Article Marketing since it is flooding applications.[8] Facebook started banning Article Marketing and other types of free advertisements in 2018 by increasing their prices and forcing free article evaluations to be stopped. March 8th, 2018, Feedback edit.

I mainly will focus on making my writing more concise. an example of this is when I plan to change my titles to things like Apps and Significance instead of Article Marketing Significance. In addition I have already started to find better sources. I will continue searching for better sources and look to create a new section if I can think of another important topic that is missing.

Evolution

[edit]

Article marketing has changed as companies have moved from targeting article directories such as Ezinearticles.com or eHow.com, to micro-targeting small audiences using Facebook and twitter.[1] Article Marketing used to have a much broader target audience but companies have switched to more finite groups of consumers.[2] The change happened because companies found that improving article quality and targeting a better audience was much more effective.[3] Part of this is due to the face that, as of March 2017 the internet has over 3.74 billion users.[4] Having such a massive market makes it hard to find the right customers, which caused companies using article marketing to shrink their scope and search for smaller audiences.

Significance

[edit]

Article marketing has become a crucial way to advertise cheaply. It is common for articles to get picked up by search engines, which allows for additional attention to a companies website.[2] Article marketing is also very easy to preform and a great first step for a new business, which makes it very popular among small business's.[2] Article marketing has become so popular that many websites now have articles which teach easy steps on how to write your own marketing article to gain views from the public.[2] Gaining views and attention to a websites is important because websites gaining more traffic have a higher chance of getting purchases from the website according to statistics.[5] Even if a website does not sell as many products on the website, the traffic a company gains will make the website more valuable.[6] This will result in other companies seeking to pay for use of the website space for advertisements because of the larger amount of traffic the website receives.[6] The chance of more revenue opportunities and adding website importance are the reasons why article marketing become a highly effective way to market and advertise to the public.

App's

[edit]

Article Marketing has also moved into phone and tablet applications also known as App's. Article Marketing is perfect for phone applications because 87% of internet users have smartphones. [7] Another reason why article marketing is so perfect for applications is that, 93% of peoples shopping choices are persuaded by social media.[7] App advertising is a very effective form of advertising, Milton Brown performed a study that people were twice as likely to purchase on their mobile phone when they see a Snapchat (a prominent phone app) advertisement.[8] They also found that 92% of campaigns saw clear results after advertising on Snapchat. [8] Because of this rising popularity of cheap/free advertisement on Apps companies have backlashed on article marketing since it is flooding applications.[9] Facebook started banning Article Marketing and other types of free advertisements in 2018 by increasing their prices and forcing free article evaluations to be stopped.
