VI-Spring is a bed company founded in 1901 in Plymouth, in the South of England.[2] Part of VI-Spring's notability comes from being the fist bed makers to use the Marshall pocketed spring coil. By 1914 these beds were found in luxurious hotels, clubs and ocean liners, including The Queen Mary & The Titanic; Both part of The Cunard Line of Luxury Cruise Ships.

== Vi-Spring beds are made by hand using all-natural materials such as wool, cotton, horsehair, coir, silk, cashmere, mohair and alpaca hair. They have never been known to use any chemicals, latex or foam in the manufacturing process.

The “VI” in VI-Spring stands for the roman numeral 6. This represents the six turns to each coil which has been their trademark. The coils are made with Vanadium Steel Wire, which acts to improve spring resilience properties and creates more consistent springing that is less likely to suffer height loss with use.

They are the first bed company to incorporate pocketed coils in their mattresses based on individually pocketed springs. James Marshall invented the Pocket Spring in 1900, which was later named the Marshall Coil. In 1901, he sold the rights to this design to English mattress maker VI-Spring. This unique system caused a revolution in the way beds were manufactured, changing the level of comfort, support, and durability. Although found all over the world, VI-Spring recently entered the United States with proprietors in New York, Chicago, St. Louis, Scottsdale, Seattle and California. Their flagship store opened in January 2011 in Beverly Hills. "VI-Spring on Beverly" was strategically located on Beverly Blvd and Robertson Blvd directly next door to their largest competitor the Swedish bed maker Hastens. ==
