Invest Ottawa is the main partner in economic development delivery with the city of Ottawa. The goals of the company are to increase entrepreneurial development, foreign direct investment and business retention and expansion, creating an ideal business environment in Ottawa for knowledge-based companies.[1]
The areas of which the organization delivers its development programs and initiatives are in entrepreneurial mentorship, startup development, business incubation services, commercialization, targeted sector development, investment attraction, business retention, expansion, and global trade development.[2]
Previously named OCRI, as of February 2012 Invest Ottawa was launched with a mandate focused on startups in the Ottawa and surrounding area.[3]
