Alexander Slocum is an American engineer, author, and Institute Professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Slocum is currently the director of Experimental Study Group and a MacVicar Faculty Fellow

Biography

Slocum received his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1982, where he remained and received his master's degree in 1983 and PHD in 1985.

Slocum is an active marathoner and triathlete having competed in over 13 Iron Man Races and 5 marathons. He has been competing since 2008.
