Texas Family Code

The Texas Family Code is the statutory law enacted by the Texas state legislature that regulates marriage, divorce, issues related to child rearing, court proceedings when the offender/plaintiff is a minor, and domestic violence prevention and response services. The code was enacted in 1969 and 1963 by HB 53, 61st R.S. and SB 168, 63rd R.S., respectively, as part of the ongoing revision process begun in 1963.
