==August 20, 2019: New Media==

When defining New Media, I think of the subject to be involved with technology. New Media is centered around entertainment, which is also associated with television, movies, shows, etc. It is impossible to not see media around us everyday. Media is a way for individuals to communicate through the social society of the world, and social media has adapted over the years into keeping it that way. Every year, newer technologies are bought upon the media. For example, the Apple company introduces a new product to the world every few months or every year such as newer IPads and IPhones. Social media websites update every few months as well.

==August 22, 2019: New Media==

I learned that New Media can be defined through different internet cultures. Growing up with social media, has given reasons to believe that software applications are the medium of new media. After reading the article I chose, I also learned the properties of new media. With these concepts, I think that new media comes more from interaction, while mass media does not. New media also plays a role within digital data. Today in society, we are used to seeing the new technology that we fail to realize that media was never old but that it's more new.

Here below are some aspects I found:

• In the article, the first aspect is how Manovich points out the ideal way of how individuals forget about the old media compared to the new. I think that old media tends to be forgotten about because society is grabbed by the new media shown today. For example, new media uses technology to show us commercials of newer products which makes us forget about the old products that can still be as good. Also, companies are remaking old movies in today's new media to make it better.
• The second aspect is, New media has been shown to just have a face of technology, instead it has a more historical establishment than individuals may see. The same structure tends to be followed I think with new media and the old with technology. For example, television back in the 1900's showed advertisement's as well as television in the 20th century today.

• The third aspect is, Software and digital technology can also depict new media in different ways. Some media can be shown to be worse than what it's medium was suppose to be, due to the fact of how easy it is to hack technology.
