History wars (Canada)[edit]

The Canadian History Wars are a series of debates and controversies about the narrative and memory of Canadian history, with a particular focus on Aboriginal history, culture, and the issue of Aboriginal genocide in public memory. The debate involved historians, educators, politicians, indigenous communities, and the public at large, who debated the interpretation of history, the memory of important events, and the value of different historical perspectives.[1]
