El Porvenir, formally known as La Tetarrona is a rancho located in the Municipality of Jerez in Zacatecas, Mexico. The name was changed from La Tetarrona to El Porvenir some time around the early 20th century as made evident through the 1930 Mexico Census. The earliest mention of the La Tetarrona dates back to the early 19th century in the baptism records of the Parroquia de Inmaculada in Jerez.
