Koluchstyl – martrial art created at the beginning of the 21st century in Poland. Wiesław Koluch who is the creator is the expert in martial arts. The name derives from the surname of the creator.

Koluchstyl is a type of Martial art which is trained in two forms - sport one (ground game) and combat one (self defence using weapons such as bat or knife).

History

First Polish championships took place on 23rd of may 2009[1]. In a quick manner Koluchstyl has spread to other countries. In the Polish discipline there are organized tournaments and championships. The biggest Koluchstyl tournament is organized periodically in Kleosin, where in 2 days over 1000 of the children are fighting on the three wrestling mats (Młodzi Wojownicy Podlasia w Koluchstyl)[2].

During II World Championships there were competitors from 37 countries (Białystok, 2015).

III World Championships were organized during 10th World Games Plaza (Wrocław, 2017)[3].

Koluchstyl has it's anthem[4].

Goals

The main goal of the Koluchstyl is the integration of the competitors from different martial arts. In the tournaments there are competitors that are training i.e. Judo,Grappling, Jujutsu, Sumo, Mixed martial arts, Karate, Taekwondo and other. They have the chance to meet people from other disciplines, share the experience and get to know the positives of other martial arts and broaden horizons.

Sport fight in Koluchstyl take place on the mat of the diameter: 230 cm for children and youth up to 16 years old and 280 cm for the competitors above 16 years old

Sport clothing

The clothing consists of the t-shirt in color yellow, white, dark blue or black and judo or karate pants in color blue with the belt. For the hygienic reasons white socks are mandatory[5].

  • Orange – 4 KYU
  • Green – 3 KYU
  • Blue – 2 KYU
  • Brown – 1 KYU
  • Black – DAN

Rules of engagement

In sport form of the Koluchstyl, the participants fight only in ground game. At least one knee need to touch the floor. Fight includes three one minute rounds. Two rounds won means winning the fight. The time of the breaks between the rounds is 15 seconds.

Every round can end in different ways i.e. pushing out of the mat, tapping out or when the round time is up, by the decision of the referees.

Children and youths up to 16 years old during the fight cannot use chokeholds or joint-locks for safety reasons.[5].

The fight in Koluchstyl take place on the mat of the diameter 280 cm or 230 cm for youths and children.
