Career

[edit]

Born in Colchester,[3] Hutchinson joined Colchester United from Brighton & Hove Albion in 2018.[4] He had a loan spell at East Grinstead Town,[5] scoring once in two appearances in the Isthmian League South East Division in December 2018.[6]

Hutchinson joined Isthmian League North Division side Grays Athletic on loan on 14 February 2019.[7] He scored five goals in seven appearances between March and April 2019.[8]

In September 2019, Hutchinson made one appearance on loan at Isthmian League North Division side Maldon & Tiptree, scoring in the Alan Turvey Trophy.[4][9]

Later the same season, Hutchinson went on loan to Isthmian League Premier Division side Brightlingsea Regent.[4] He made two cup and two league appearances between October and November 2019.[10] He then joined Hitchin Town on loan in November 2019.[11] Between November 2019 and February 2020, he scored six goals in 13 Southern League Premier Division Central appearances, and registered seven goals in 15 games in all competitions.[12]

On 11 January 2020, Hutchinson travelled with Colchester's first-team for their game at Morecambe, though he did not make the final 18-man squad.[5]

In March 2020, Hutchinson was nominated for a League Football Education award. He made 'The 11' shortlist, which recognises the progress of under-18 players on apprenticeships.[13]

In summer 2020, Hutchinson signed his first professional development contract with Colchester after completing his two-year apprenticeship.[4]

On 26 October 2021, Hutchinson joined National League South side Tonbridge Angels in month-long loan deal.[14] He made his debut from the substitutes bench in Angels' 2–0 home defeat by Oxford City on 30 October.[15]
