The American Revolution is also known as the Revolutionary War or the U.S. War for Independence. The conflict arose from growing tensions between colonies. France entered the American Revolution on the side of the colonists in 1778.

   When I was a kid I lived through the American Revolution. My dad said that he had said he was going to help with the war. I asked if I could come, but my dad said no I could not come. I said why? he said"the war is to dangerous. so I stayed back at the colony. I said I would miss him alot. when he left I started to cry. then my mom said its ok.
