When a light ray falls an object like mirror and bounces off, it is called reflection.
REFRACTION[edit]
Refraction is the bending of a light when it enters a other optical medium . Then refraction of light when it passes from a fast medium to a slow medium bends the light ray toward the normal to the boundary between the two media. The angle of bending depends on the refractive indices of the two optical media.
TOTAL INTERNAL REFLECTION[edit]
Total internal reflection is a phenomenon which occurs when a propagating light strikes on a first medium boundary at an angle larger than a particular incidence angle called critical angle with respect to the normal to the surface,
Then light cannot pass through second medium and is entirely reflected back in the first medium. The critical angle is the angle of incidence above which the total internal reflection occurs.
