The Armada Skyline are an English post hardcore band from Nottingham. Founded in 2010 when Jay Roberts (lead vocalist) joined up with Jake Smerdon-White (Drummer) after the pair split from their old bands The Fall Of Giants(Jay) and The Repent(Jake). The current line-up of the group consists of Jay Roberts (lead vocals), Jamie Osgood (vocals), Chris Knobbs (guitar), Dan Bingley (bass guitar) and Jake Smerdon-White (drums).

History

The band formed after vocalist Jay Roberts split from old band (The Fall Of Giants), at this time drummer Jake Smerdon-White had also parted ways with his current band (The Repent). The two decided to form a band together. Recruting members they aimed to form a band who created a hard hitting individual sound, taking a amore metal-core route the band began writing songs late December 2010. with the loss of lead guitarist (Cal Morrell) they decided to change the bands sound, bringing in unknown local talent Jamie Osgood as the bands clean vocalist. With this line up change, the band began to write new songs, and with only two practices the played their first gig. With the help of Ashley Quinn (drummer/The Fall Of Giants) as fill in guitarist. Shortly after the band played a fast paced, energetic ten minute set, the show was closed down due to fights and underage drinking at the venue. Gaining a larger fanbase and some extra buzz off their first gig, the band were booked to support metal bands Kraken and Dead At The Scene on their co-headline tour of the UK.
