Joe Baaklini was born in Bzebdine al matn, a village in Mount Lebanon. His father is Elias Hanna Baaklini and mother Yvonne Fadlallah Germany. He has four brothers and two sisters. Joe is married to Anzhelika Vedrentseva and has a boy, Daniel Baaklini.
The Baaklini family is rooted in Lebanon for centuries. Originally they were descendent from Al Helu and Ghreib families. Most of them can be located in Bzdbdine, Sheyah, Ba'bda, Dhur al-Shweir, and Beirut.
Joe got early elementary education in the Saint Coeur Catholic School in his hometown. At the start of the Lebanese civil War, Joe moved to Beirut where he studied in public schools of Al-Ashrafieh and Jedeideh.
Joe witnessed at close range the vicious war erupted in 1975 and which lasted until 1990. Similar to most young Lebanese, The war had profound impact on young people of his age. Almost each Lebanese family was affected directly or indirectly by the monstrous internal strife and the war of foreign forces on that country.
In 1981, He entered Middle East College where he studied English. In 1983, Joe immigrated to the United States of America to pursue his higher education. He got a degree in Electrical Engineering from Rutgers University in 1988. In 1992 he obtained a second degree in Political Science from Rutgers University in New Jersey. He had an internship in Washington DC with ADC, a non-profit organization. Again, by 1995 He graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University with an MBA degree in Economics and Finance.
Joe worked in the financial industry as a financial analyst with major US banks and institutions. Currently he is the Chairman and CEO of [Global Derivatives Opeartion] an administrative middle office that supports OTC Derivatives traders for many small hedge funds and financial institutions.
