The most common reason for a solvable issue raised at ANI to result in an effective community ban is the failure of one or more of the principles to know when to just shut-up. So, should one find oneself the subject of an ANI complaint, one should not engage with one's opponents or attempt to relitigate the dispute which spawned the complaint. Present a concise summary of one's position and briefly answer questions and concerns raised by uninvolved editors -- Then shut-up.
