I am a board-certified internist who has practiced in a community academic setting for nearly thirty years. As the practice of medicine has become less paternalistic and time available for physician-paient interaction has diminished, the need for accurate and timely medical information that is easily available to the public has become essential. I hope that medical practitioners, who have spent a lifetime aiding and assisting people in critical life decisions, will find time to aid in developing articles on Wikipedia that will reflect reasoned and rational data that may allay anxiety and aid in correct medical decision making.
