Sébastien Loghman, born in 1980[1],[2], is a French film director, screenwriter, musician and contemporary artist.

Biographie

[edit]

Graduated from the Beaux-Arts de Paris in 2006 and from the Le Fresnoy film school in 2009, in 2005 he obtained a scholarship to follow for training in the Film Department of San Francisco Art Institute, USA.

In 2005, his netart piece Adam’s CAM was presented at the Centre Pompidou as part of the Intime*10 exhibition at the Flash Festival. In 2006, he codirected Untitled (what you can't see exists as well) with the support of the MAC VAL - Contemporary Art Museum of Val-de-Marnes, France where it was exhibited as an art installation in the museum collection.

From 2003 to 2006, alongside his artistic activities, he founded and directed Art-video.org[3]. This non profit organisation is one of the very first video platforms, intended for young video and multimedia artists.

Canal+ Prize at the 24th Brest European Short Film Festival, his short musical film Cantor Dust Man was selected in numerous film festivals, broadcast on television, and exhibited in the field of contemporary art, such as for 2012 Nuit Blanche at Paris Palais de Tokyo in a selection of the best films produced by Le Fresnoy over the past 15 years. You can also discover Cantor Dust Man in the educational video game Images 2.0.

As part of the 25th anniversary of Paris omnimax theatre La Géode, he cowrote and directed the sequel of Cantor Dust Man, the 3D stereoscopic short film Puzzle in which the famous French New Wave actor, director and producer André S. Labarthe plays the leading role.

In 2012, he directed with Patrick Jean Ich R U, the first official music video for Boys Noize. This video required 3,400 computer keyboard keys and 200 recycled keyboards to bring the character of Keyboy and his world to life. In 2013 in the United States, he designed and directed with Patrick Jean the second Boys Noize video, What You Want.

In 2010, he created with Fantôme Josepha the electro pop rock duo Magic Levels[4] which he produced and in which he sang until 2012.

Multi-instrumentalist, singer, Sebastien Loghman composes and produces the music for his personal projects as ADHAM.

A multidisciplinary artist with drawing and words as starting points, Sebastien Loghman plays with identities, hybridizes bodies and invites the viewer on a journey through memory.

His films reveal a strangely disturbing familiar universe and combine the codes of fantastic cinema, science fiction and surrealism.
