The Eye Paint
[edit]Ancient Egyptians used several of materials to create their cosmetics. A common look Egyptians would do is their eye makeup. There were two eye-paints Egyptians would use which were malachite and Galen.[1] Ancient Egyptians would also do face paints with similar materials. Their eye looks were very specific and time consuming. The color black is commonly known to be used on their eye look. It is mostly seen in drawings and paintings. Egyptians would add color to their eye looks. Such as the malachite which was a shade of green copper. The black shade would use came from shells of almonds. [1] Each of the items used for their eye looks were products found in Egypt. Egyptians later started to seek even more cosmetic materials which were found in areas of Egypt. The material Galen has the consistency of creme. Egyptians would use this cosmetic material on their face. Oils were also used as cosmetic materials. It was known that Egyptians would use colored cosmetics materials because it was seen in their graves. The pigment of their makeup would appear in Egyptian graves. The natural pigment of fruits was also used as face makeup. Even though natural materials were used by Egyptians for their face makeup, Egyptians also used dangerous materials for their face makeup. Cosmetics have been developing for the better over the years around the world.
Bright Red
[edit]Geisha makeup look is extremely unique. Geisha means performance person and it was started during the Edo Period in the 1600's. [2] Geisha performance have many procedures to follow. Geisha was first performed by men. The women started performing Geisha by the 1750's[2]. The instinct direction someone is guided when seeing a Geisha is their face makeup. Geisha makeup consist of a white face and a bright red lip. Accessories are also included in the Geisha look. Rice powder was a common material in their cosmetics. This was used to create their white face makeup. At first Geisha would also use very harmful led as their white base. Makeup certainly contains harmful ingredients. Over the years this has been issue because it has caused many skin diseases for many individuals. This issue has been developed to be safer to use. Geisha eyebrows are very bold and have unique shape to them.
