Why Am I Here? (On Wikipedia, Not the Universe)

[edit]

Two words: Random Article. This feature is probably the best feature in Wikipedia, as it allows one to explore the inner-most depths of human's greatest knowledge-base with just the click of button. No longer am I confined to just one particular section of a library (although libraries are pretty amazing). With just one click, I can go from an article on lemons to an article on some seemingly random human of a distant land.

And by being a Wikipedia user and editing the errors or adding information to such random pages, I learn so much more about the universe. My strategy is to read through every random article I come across on Wikipedia and try to see what I can research and add and modify, even if the article doesn't seem very interesting at first.

So yes, I like the idea of helping the community and the world knowledge-base, but really it comes down to my desire to learn everything I can. Being a part of this community allows me to do this, and that's pretty awesome.
