Jillian Anthony (born 1988) is a professional journalist originally from San Dimas, CA. She is currently available as a freelance writer in the Central New York area.

Life and Career

Jillian Margarita Anthony graduated from the University of San Diego in May of 2010 with a B.A. in Communication Studies and a minor in Art History. She will graduate with her Master of Arts in the Magazine, Newspaper and Online journalism program from Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications in May of 2011.

Jillian's journalism career began at St. Lucy's Priory High School, where she worked as video editor and staff writer for the school paper, The Laureate. She began working for the University of San Diego's paper, The Vista, her sophomore year as the "Campus Focus" section editor. She began a weekly comedic advice column titled "Dear Jilla." She worked as a staff writer her junior year and moved up to Managing Editor her senior year.

Jillian was an editorial intern at San Diego Magazine in fall 2009. She was published both in the magazine and on sandiegomagazine.com. Her pieces covered interesting people, places and events in the San Diego area. She also shot and produced a video for the website of the cover photoshoot for the November issue.

After graduation, Jillian will pursue work as a writer in New York City.
