Lamagaun[1] (Nepali: लामागाउँ) is a beautiful Gurung village located in an elevation of 1900 metres above sea level in Lamjung District. This village is named after origin place of lam clan in gurung caste,” Lamagaun” Lama’s village. The village is situated in between besishahar(south), ghalegaun(northwest), ghanpokhara(north) khudi and bhulbhule(northeast) and baglungpani(west). Lamagaun has two climate in ‘lek’ it’s cold and warm at ’ besi’. This beautiful village is a great preface to the beauty of the nature and the rich culture and the lifestyle of Gurung community. Lamagaun offers an opportunity to learn about this unique traditional culture. From Ghalegaun it takes only 5 minutes down to the east side welcoming with beautiful lake Lampokhari and further with best scenic view. At ‘besi’ you can enjoy swimming, fishing,delicious organic food. It roughly takes 2 hour by walking and 45 min by jeep ride from besishahar. If you love trekking, from lamagaun you can trek to ghalegaun with beautiful scenic view. Lamagaun can be best scenic tourist destination.
