JJ Vel (born Jeffrey Jerome Velez on August 16th) an American bassist/composer and Artist. He is the founder of the hard rock band VELDRAGO amongst many others.

Jj Vel is a Brooklyn NY born and bread bassist/composer/videographer who has played on countless demos, albums, sessions and lives shows for local as well as regional touring acts. Although a bassist his entire life, the struggles of the daily grind and regular demands of the rat race made Jj learn just about every trade there is to be known.... self taught on guitar, drums, bass and keys JJ sat in whatever recording gig would have him as he honed his skills on the various instruments. Although proficient on the guitar, JJ's strongest asset is his bass playing. JJ's Aggressive bass playing can be heard on reverbnation under JJVel. On songs such as "Poverty's creation", "Paranoia" and "Pray 4 rain" it is evident that JJ's bass playing takes this music from Hard rock to Funk with the flick of a lick. On Videos like "IN DA VILL" IN DA VILL ON YOUTUBEthe facility in which Jj executes his slap technique is staggering.

NEW ALBUM 2013 AND VIDEOS

JJ Vel has been working feverishly throughout 2012 and most of 2013 in his new venture as Videographer. Honing in his new skills JJ handled the shooting as well as all the directing and editing on all 5 new videos due for release in 2013 behind the long awaited EP "Coming up for air". The first in a series of 5 videos, "Wicked ways" is scheduled for a mid 2013 release.... 2014 and most of 2015 was a slow time for JJ as he struggled personal loss as well as taking some much needed time off to work on new music, life and family. In the meantime JJ Vel re assessed himself
