OPTP[edit]

OPTP (Orthopedic Physical Therapy Products) is a corporation based in Minneapolis, Minnesota that provides physical therapy and physical fitness products.[1] Products include educational books and a variety of equipment designed for use by healthcare professionals as well as patients and individual consumers. OPTP works in partnership with many renowned industry experts who author the books and consult on product creation. [2]

About OPTP Products[edit]

OPTP products fall into two categories: 1) Orthopedic and therapy tools; 2) Fitness and general wellness products that promote a healthy lifestyle.

The first category consists of products that address patient needs for pain or rehabilitation in such disciplines as manual therapy, myofascial release and posture support. Products such as mobilization straps and positioning tools are designed to help clinicians treat their therapy patients.

The second category consists of health and wellness products for such fitness disciplines as strength training, cardiovascular conditioning and Pilates. These products are geared toward individual use without the aid of a clinician.

Both product categories promote conservative and preventive care while aiming to help control healthcare costs through the avoidance of more invasive treatments such as surgery.[3][4]

History[edit]

OPTP was founded in 1979 by the late James Woog, PT. The company was founded under the name Positex, Inc.[5] and was dedicated to the sale of positioning and posture therapy tools and education.
