I was a student at the school that is the subject of the article, and I am the author of a scholarly book on the subject titled "The Philadelphia School and the Future of Architecture," published by Routledge, a scholarly press.

Lobell attended the college and the school of architecture at the University of Pennsylvania, and is a professor of architecture at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. He has worked or studied with some of the major creative and cultural figures of the twentieth century, including mythologist Joseph Campbell; architects Louis Kahn, Robert Venturi, Harrison & Abramovitz, and Ulrich Franzen; Buddhist masters Chogyam Trungpa, Robert Thurman, Lama Tsultrim Allione, and the Dalai Lama; and Tai Chi master Cheng Man-Ch’ing.

Lobell works in the fields of creativity, consciousness studies, cultural theory, mythology, architecture, Buddhism, and information theory, and consults on high profile technology projects. He is the author of numerous articles and has lectured throughout the country. Lobell lectures widely and has published numerous articles and reviews.
