The Genesis of this Page

[edit]

I tried and failed to create a public wikipedia page for Joseph Fluckiger. I got the administrator comment: "This person is of no historical or popular interest" (ouch) Per the administrators recommendation I'm creating an autobiographical page in user space, until which time that I am deemed by wikipedia to be of historical or popular importance.

Life and Times of S. Joseph Fluckiger

[edit]

I was born at a very early age of zero. But within a year, I was the respectible age of well, one. View my life history in pictures.

Fast forward: I am now a happy husband of Sarah Lewis Fluckiger and a proud father of Michael Joseph Fluckiger. I work for Catapult Systems ([1]) as a Senior .NET Consultant. I love my job, I am a huge space enthusiast, I'm active in my Church (LDS), I'm a geek, I love to mountain and road bike, and chocolate makes me sneeze.

My Blog

[edit]

Please read my blog at josephfluckiger.blogspot.com. I focus on technical topics ranging from ASP.NET, SharePoint, Windows Server, Sql Server, etc. My experience with programming and SharePoint shows me that blogs are a critically important source of information and documentation. The Microsoft out-of-the-box documentation is almost always woefully inadequate and it is up to us bloggers to save the IT soldiers out there from loosing as much hair as I have. :)

Professional Bio

Joseph Fluckiger, MCPD

Joseph Fluckiger is a Senior Consultant for Catapult Systems specializing in Microsoft SharePoint and .NET. He is a Microsoft Certified Professional Developer in C# Windows Development and has built core applications in use across the telecommunications and health care industries. He began programming on the Apple IIe, and has since used everything from Basic 1.0 to C#, but he confesses that he has done more Perl and VB6 than he would like to admit. He loves keeping up to date with the latest software tools and technologies, especially those developed by his hero Anders Hejlsberg. The rest of his time is spent teaching his two-year-old son to program in C++, mountain biking, and crashing on his mountain bike. Joseph graduated from Brigham Young University with a major in Economics and a minor in Physics.

It is one of the more popular SharePoint utilities found on codeplex having been viewed 11,134 times as of Feb 2008 and is currently the 18th most popular for the tag SharePoint. It accomplishes common tasks like finding all the SharePoint Sites and Lists a user has access to accross a site collection. It also allows you to copy views from one list to another, and much more.

My Hobbies

[edit]

I also love(d) biking and broke my right leg and my left arm while riding my mountain bike, so I'm currently debating whether my biking passion will continue or be replaced by a less dangerous hobby. pictures of my broken wrist and the trophy I won after running 1.5 miles with my bike and incapacitated wrist.
