Quick understanding on Cloud

Cloud Computing - Overview

As a user of AWS, Google etc, I was intrigued by the fact that people spoke about cloud. Yes, I could understand that storage and hard disk would mean. I have heard about Big Data and Cloud computing from friends who made me feel an amateur. With a lot of struggle I started searching and studied the whole of RDMS, SQL, Python to understand how this data has an advantage in making our life more effective. Lets understand what this all would mean. Now look at this image which will give a quick understanding on what Cloud data mean.

  • RDBMS – on the Edge
  • RDBMS and the cloud - Database as a Service (DBaaS)
  • RDBMS IoT and edge

Data Sources (illustrative)

  • Healthcare provision in rural areas
  • Autonomous vehicles (AV)
  • Structural surveillance (cameras, motion and radar sensors)

Now for all those in the business world - who take strategic decisions. I would this questionnaire by PWC really interesting. Give a try and it just takes less than 3 minutes to give you a perspective of Cloud advantage.

Answer just 4 questions:

Cloud databases significant edge over traditional databases

Cloud databases enable enterprises with crucial data-resource requirements to scale on demand without worrying about availability and security.

Cloud Traditional Enterprise Individual
Scale on Demand Time/Cost Consuming It matters good to have
Space/Performance Budgeting/Infrastructure It matters good to have
Security Strategy/Planning It matters good to have

Its coming, Cloud is coming
Similarly Cloud computing is capturing massive data and processing to help us feel floating over the clouds.

Now look at some of the images of cloud that I took. It is powerful, yet beautiful. Cloud is something that we are familiar, but Cloud computing speed is massive.
