The Super Mario 64 A button challenge is a challenge where you beat the game usually with 120 stars with as few A presses as possible.

History

[edit]

In 2011, a group of TASers completed a max% 0xA run obtaining 20 stars.[1] As of October 2023, a 120-star run can be completed in 13 A presses, and a 70-star run in 0 A presses.[2][3][4]

70ABC

[edit]

In late May 2018, a glitch in "Bowser in the Fire Sea" called "platform drift" was documented by Andru! allowing the game to be beaten in 0 A presses.[5] This strategy was console verified by Emilia Blue.[6] BITFS 0xA is thought to be possible 0xA via bully battery.
