Julius Gartrail Johnson was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1967. Johnson is an international development professional, Diplomat, entrepreneur and activist. Johnson has worked across US institutions, including US State Department throughout the world in custom designed senior roles. Johnson’s special assignments have brought him to the frontlines of combating terror and combating violent extremism. He is the Founder of the Newberry Foundation, a nonprofit organization based in Hawkinsville, GA committed to preserving African history, building human community, and providing whole of person education. Julius Johnson attended St. Lawrence University, Yale University and is currently completing his PhD. Johnson is a big thinker, Global leader, social and business entrepreneur with interest in developing 21st century leadership through personally developed training techniques and strategies. Johnson is also an African Art collector, African history historian, and Jazz enthusiast.
