Dean Slatsky was born in Encino California, on January 24 1969 to John and Zoya Slatsky. Dean is is second oldest of four boys. Dean and his family moved to Cottage Grove Oregon in 1974.
Since Dean was 5 he knew he had a passion for art. He went to Cottage Grove High school where he took as many art classes as he could up until he graduated high school in 1987. Shortly after graduation he went to Lane community College where he studied for one year in general studies and art classes as well. In 1990 Dean moved back to California, and he went to MoorPark Community College. Dean also lived in Minneapolis from 1995-2005 and attended Bougie Studios which is a private art school. While attending he mainly concentrated his passion for art in the classical art genre. From 2005-2008 Dean lived in Jacksonville Florida and worked at a museum.
Dean eventually moved back to where he grew up, Cottage Grove Oregon. He has been a member of the Cottage Grove Art Guild since 2010. Dean has had several paintings on display at the local hospital and currently showing at The Emerald Art Center in Springfield Oregon. Dean is currently working on a exhibit called "Fun Facts" these are paintings based off the Norse gods that were represented for each day of the week. Dean has taught art for Lane Community College to both young and old.
