Background:

For BIO 3230 Developmental Biology, Dr. Guisbert has enrolled his course in a Wikipedia editing program. Through this program, students are able to acquire the knowledge and skills of maneuvering one of the largest and most acclaimed free online encyclopedias.

Thoughts:

When I was in high school, and in my earlier years of college, Wikipedia was basically "banned" by my English, Humanities, and even Biology professors when writing papers. When Dr. Guisbert informed the class that we would be using Wikipedia, and that one of our big projects will be based on our understanding of the cite, I was a little shocked and nervous. For so long Wikipedia was seen as the bad guy but now, we are able to get a better understanding of this source, and hopefully change the views of Wikipedia for the better.

Research Topic:

The topic that I am currently leaning towards researching is Antagonistic pleiotropy (aging).
