From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tex Size: Refers to a ticket size of sewing thread that is based on the gram weight of 1000 meters of greige (undyed) thread. Tex sizes are bracketed or rounded off to a smaller size. (Example: a Tex 42 thread would be labeled a Tex 40 thread.) The Tex size is 1/9 the denier size. To convert singles equivalent yarn size to Tex Size, divide 590.6 by the singles equivalent size.

Cord: Refers to the number of ply in the thread construction such as a 2-cord thread - 2-ply thread.
