Jean Claude Kabengera (born October 20, 1989), better known by his media name Claude Kabengera, is a Rwandan radio personality, television host and a Master of Ceremony. He hosts the annual TV show NYEDC, a National Young Entrepreneurs’ Debate Championship by the Rwanda inspiration Back-up, and also Sunday Night Show, a popular night radio show on Isango star 91.5 FM. Journalism career

Claude Kabengera has experience of more than 5 years in media industry since 2009. He is a member of Central Africa Forum of Journalists for Democracy and human Rights from November 2013. Best known for being one of The Sunday Night Show’s most popular presenters, Claude Kabengera has a wealth of broadcasting experience under his belt. He first started out on the Radio Salus’ Salus Relax in 2009 for over 2 years and swiftly moved to The Isango Star’s Sunday Night Show in 2011. He worked with international Radio Netherlands from August to September 2013. He acted as Chief Editor of Radio Isango Star in 2014, featured in presenting News. [1].

Personal life and relationships

His personal life has been a subject of media attention. Although a perfectionist being on-air, in social settings he is known as a simple, unpretentious and friendly person who is well liked within the industry and in the media. He refuses to drink or smoke and enjoys reading on a variety of topics. The media describe him as handsome and although Claude Kabengera has not spoken of having a girlfriend, reporters speculate on his romantic attachments, including a suspected secret relationship with a Rwandan girl in the Philippines.

A youth activist, Claude Kabengera has hosted the National Youth Connect Convention by the Ministry of Youth and ICT and the National Youth Council for its first time in December 2012

He is also a host of the annual TV show National Young Entrepreneurs’ Debate Championship (NYEDC) by the Rwanda inspiration Back-up. Other credits include presenting Isango Star News and a Master of Ceremony. Recently, after signing a contract with East African Promoters and Rwanda inspiration Back-up, Claude Kabengera was chosen by the Rwanda Ministry of Sports and Culture as the official TV host of Miss Rwanda 2014 contest [2].

Claude Kabengera is now looking at establishing a charity foundation which aims at improving quality of life for the most vulnerable in Rwandan society.
