The Columbia Center was built in 1985 and is located in Seattle, Washington. The initial height was supposed to be 1000 ft but the Federal Aviation Association (FAA) said that it had to be shorter because it could block flight paths. Therefore, the Columbia Center had been cut down to be 943 ft. It remains the tallest building in Seattle. During the planning and construction period, it was known as the Columbia Center, and since then it had many different previous names including Columbia Seafirst Tower 1983-1998), Bank of America Tower (1998-1999). However, in 2005 the building had changed back to its original name, the "Columbia Center", due to the departure of Bank of America.

The beauty of the Columbia Center offers fantastic views of the Emerald City and also many activities for all age groups such as dining, shopping, exercising and Sky Observatory. The Sky Observatory is located on the 73rd floor of the Columbia Center offers panoramic views to different parts of Seattle and near by areas. This place is a great tourist attraction to get a scenic view of Seattle ranging from Mount Baker, Elliot Bay, to the Cascades. In addition, one of the scenes in the 2017's movie, "50 Shades Darker", was influenced by the Columbia Center. The scene is when Christian Grey takes Anastasia out for dinner to The Mile High Club on the 76th floor of the Columbia Center which in reality, the Columbia Tower Club located on the 75th floor and the scene was actually filmed in a different location.
