Evaluate an article[edit]

This is where you will complete your article evaluation. Please use the template below to evaluate your selected article.

  • Name of article: Banana Boat
  • This a cappella group Banana Boat is very interesting and has an inspiring story.

Lead[edit]

Lead evaluation[edit]

The Lead of this article includes a introductory sentence that describes the topic, but I think is needs more work. I was expecting more details like foundation years in the first or second sentence, but there was none of that kind of information. The history details of the a cappella group is present in the article but not in the Lead. In general, it has a lot of details that can just be mentioned and include another kind of information that is more relevant.

Content[edit]

Content evaluation

Although the article is short the content is relevant to the topic and has a quite complete information. The article includes some historical details about the Banana Boat a cappella group, the members of the group, organization events, awards and concerts. It has a little bit of everything, and the last edit was on July of 2020.

Tone and Balance[edit]

Tone and balance evaluation

The article has a very neutral tone. There’s no apparent biased opinion or position to any given information.

Sources and References[edit]

Sources and references evaluation

Not every fact in the article is supported by a reliable source ,but it provides some literature on the topic. There’s some references that are from newspapers or magazines that I wouldn’t take as a strong source. The links on the reference area work, but there’re some links inside the article that don’t work. References and sources need work.

Organization[edit]

Organization evaluation[edit]

This article isn’t very easy to read and has some grammatical errors. It can be broken into more sections to make it easier to read and find information.

Images and Media[edit]

Images and media evaluation[edit]

This article is lacking images, it has just one. The image shows the musical group in stage with the group’s name as caption. Its a good image, but the article needs more images to help the reader visualize the information. It needs some images of the musical group’s members and their activities.

Checking the talk page[edit]

Talk page evaluation[edit]

The last updates in the talk page were about the modifications of external links that were giving problems. This is a C-class, low-importance article and, it’s part of the WikiProject A Cappella.

Overall impressions[edit]

Overall evaluation

This article needs more work. Although it has very complete information, it can be rearranged and organized better. The article can be improved by fixing some links, adding images, giving it a more structured and pleasant view, and making sure it has strong and viable sources. The article is underdeveloped, but it can be improved.
